Information about Adkoc

What?
A Different Kind of Cop (Adkoc) is harsh elecronic/industrial music with a bent towards melodic orchestration and non-traditional time-signatures and rhythms. Adkoc’s music can range from soft-and-subtle ambient sounds to in-your-face hardcore industrial-metal.

Where?
Adkoc began in Southern California in 1992, but now hails from Kansas City, Missouri.

Who?
Adkoc is Tim Samoff.

Is there a studio?
Yes. It’s a state-of-the-art recording space called “The Closet.” (Actually, it’s currently just a 4×8 walk-in closet that’s full of clothes.)

What’s in the studio?
A Mac G3 running Emagic Logic Audio Platinum, a Yamaha SY-99, a few guitars, a Line6 POD Pro, a few rack effects, and a bunch of found objects.

That’s it?!
Tim prides himself on making a lot out of very little… Yeah, right!

Adkoc’s beliefs…
Tim is a follower of Jesus Christ. He believes that his faith and music are inextricably intertwined — whether that comes through in the music or not. (Oh, and Tim believes the children are our future…)
