The second full length album from the Industrial one man act, A Different Kind Of Cop, starts off quite peculiar, with a cough and a yell accompanied by a tribal sound and then sets off into a harsh and diverse set of Electro/Metal/Synth/Aggro influenced tracks.

The second full length album by A Different Kind of Cop has a number of surprises. First, it wasn’t too long ago that we found out that there was a new ADKOC album on the way. A few months later, it is now available. Was it rushed to completion? It sure doesn’t sound that way. A second surprise is how the tracks are named, all as numbers which seems to tie in with the football theme of the cover artwork and album title somehow.

‘Vell, ADKoC’s jist zis guy you know?’—Gag Halfrunt (ADKoC’s Private brain care specialist)

(Bonus points to the sci-fi geeks [like me] out there who know where this one comes from!)

Alright ‘the cops are back again’ as they disc so plainly exclaims in the second track of their new album ‘God 7, Structure 0’...oh wait a second I get it…structure ZERO...so by not having any track titles and just calling each track 01, 02, 03, 04, etc…your showing a complete lack of STRUCTURE where as you’ve already given God 7 points so He wins. OK, cool idea but annoying end product. Seriously it does make it difficult to latch on to a song that you really dig when it’s got no name! While I’ve already geared myself up for bashing outta the gates lemme finish that up before I get to the praise of this band, to which they DESERVE this CD rocks! With this second MP3.COM album offered by ADKoC we are given 14 new tracks (and a bonus hidden song) of heavy industrial that at times tends to lead more to the EBM side of things this go around. No don’t worry the heavy guitars still crunch through like on the song 07…i mean track 7 well see what I mean about the lack of names? Anyway track seven is probably my favorite track on the disc. The BPM’s gotta be pegging around 180+ on this one. With guitar work that goes from this rhythm to almost lead style playing. This IS a clubbing song!

While some bands use their sophomore release to settle into a familiar routine, A Different Kind of Cop takes the opportunity with God-7 Structure-0 to again stretch the limits. Industrial and Electronic are genres unto themselves because of bands such as ADKOC experimenting with the psyche of sound, as proven by this latest release. From the underground dark club necessities to the scattering of quick intermission tracks clocking in under 2 minutes, the album provides an eclectic offering of fast beats and synthesized distortion.
